Louie

After years of shelving a project and working on it on and off, there is no better feeling than finishing what you started.

Louie was my first family dog. He was cute, cuddly, a little feisty, but he was the most tolerant dog we ever had.

We had him until he was close to 16 years old. And then we had to put him down.

It broke all of our hearts, but we all knew we didn’t want him to suffer any longer.

A couple months after his passing, I knew I wanted to commemorate him in a special way.

I got to work on a mosaic of him, but it would’ve taken more parts than I had in my collection, so I stopped working on it.

Until I found the money to buy more parts, this cycle of adding a little more and then leaving it to collect dust kept repeating and repeating.

Suddenly it was finished.

Needless to say, I was relieved.

Not because it was done.

But because I got to spend a little more time with him even after he was gone.

I miss you Louie.
